USES AND DOSAGE

• Nexium is used to treat:
• Acute gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults and children over 10 years old.
• Acute and chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults and children over 14 years.
• Acute peptic ulcers (ulcerative colitis) in adults and children over 14 years.
• Acute bacterial gastroesophageal reflux disease (ABG) in adults and children over 14 years.

• Nexium is a powerful anti-acid medication used to treat heartburn and acid reflux.
• It can also help relieve symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, and heartburn in people with a peptic ulcer.

What is Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing? You may take Esomeprazole daily if you:

• do not have heartburn or acid reflux disease
• take every day at least 60 minutes before anticipated heartburn or acid regurgitation
• take every day at least once daily since heartburn or acid regurgitation usually occurs in the first four days of treatment and continue for at least 4 weeks
• take every day for heartburn symptom relief

It is not known if Esomeprazole will provide the full benefit of up to 24 hours of treatment. However, your doctor may occasionally prescribe Esomeprazole for symptomatic relief of heartburn or acid regugitation.

What are the side effects of Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing? Esomeprazole may lead to serious side effects, including:

• back pain or muscle pain with fever and swollen legs
• painful or prolonged heartburn
• a high temperature, stuffy nose, and sore throat
• difficulty breathing or swallowing

Stop taking Nexium and contact your doctor immediately if your symptoms have not improved after taking the tablet. Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing may produce more frequent heartburn, especially if you have symptoms of acid in the stomach or kidney, especially if you have had heartburn for more than 6 consecutive days.
